wefox, a leading global insurtech company, has announced the appointment of Dominik Ulrich as its new Chief Risk Officer (CRO). Ulrich, previously the Head of Internal Audit at wefox, steps into his role effective immediately.

In his new capacity, Ulrich will oversee the Group Risk Advisory function, which includes the establishment of a dedicated Assurance function, and he will manage the Insurance Carrier’s Risk Management. As a part of the executive team, he reports directly to the CEO and plays a crucial role in refining the company’s risk management frameworks.

CEO Julian Teicke expressed enthusiasm about Ulrich’s promotion, citing his “innovative mindset, pragmatic approach, and deep tech knowledge” as key factors in his appointment. Ulrich’s career, spanning nearly two decades, includes significant roles in Internal Audit, Information Risk Management, and Risk Advisory across major financial and insurance institutions, including Zurich Insurance Group and Citibank.

With a Master’s degree in Economics and certifications in Information Security and System Auditing, Ulrich is well-prepared to lead wefox’s risk management strategies at a critical time in its growth trajectory.
